Kingdom of Wessex- also known as Kingdom of West-Saxons, was formed when Cerdic, along with his son Cynric, and five ships landed in Britain, in Anglo-Saxon times.
Kingdom of Mercia- was formed in the valley of the River trent in central England, possibly by their first king, Creoda.
Kingdom of Essex- also known as Kingdom of East Saxons, it was formed in early 6th century in eastern Britain, by its first king, Æscwine.
Kingdom of Northumbria- formed by Æthelfrith in central Great Britain in Anglo-Saxon times, when the two kingdoms of Bernicia and Deira were united.
Kingdom of Kent- was formed by its first king, Æthelbert in the south east part of Britain, and was later made a puppet kingdom to Mercia, and later Wessex.
Kingdom of East Anglia- also known as Kingdom of East Angles, it was formed in the 6th century east of Mercia, by its first king, Wehha.
Kingdom of Sussex- also known as Kingdom of South Saxons, was formed in the south of Britain in late 5th century, by its first king, Ælle.
